Bar Manager:

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

As a Bar Manager, you are in charge of recruiting, training, and motivating staff, the bar manager must operate a financially successful establishment while maintaining company goals and expectations.  In addition, you are responsible to be hands-on during the service, supporting your team members and ensuring each and every guest receives exceptional service.  Further, you are expected to execute daily administrative tasks, special projects, and more as the business requires. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Person in charge for the entire shift.

  • Accountable for day-to-day shift operations and special projects, that will include administrative tasks to be completed before opening hours such as scheduling, forecasting, inventory management, and more.

  • Managers must ensure all liquor remains rotated and in proper condition, enforce all health and safety codes to subordinate employees, and manage staffing and scheduling issues

  • Create a forecasting strategy to include specific operations which will vary from game days to non-game days. 

  • Execute daily / weekly orders for all products

  • Develop and build strong relationships with preferred vendors, staff, and customers

  • Control liquor costs within established performance metrics and ensure accurate purchasing costs against sales price for all items, and in addition calculate and track waste.

  • Develop an event sales strategy for targeted groups and event spaces. Oversee execution of events and operate as the principal contact for event hosts.

  • Implement and oversee a daily / weekly schedule for food trucks and develop strong relationships to build that segment for the company. Coordinate logistics accordingly.

  • Assist to create a promotions calendar and schedule for daily, weekly, and monthly events, including happy hour promotions and more.

  • Provide content for social media partner(s) in various ways (photos, videos, etc) on a daily basis.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the entire space by implementing daily and weekly cleaning task schedules and maintenance calendar with vendors for certain equipment as necessary.

  • Ensure health, safety, and sanitation requirements follow the Department of Health, OSHA, and any city or state agencies rules and laws such as the Department of Buildings and the Fire Department, and ensure all managers are kept abreast of any changes in the law

  • Collect, audit and securely deposit daily revenue.

  • Respond to and resolve issues that may arise on shift.

  • Respond quickly to assist team members in all roles.

  • Help monitor, evaluate and coach team member performance. 

  • Certify team members are pouring and ringing in drinks properly.

  • Lead completion of End of Day template at close of shift.

  • As necessary, make drinks for guests and cocktail servers. 

  • Maintain expert knowledge of our menu and cocktail recipes and train staff members accordingly.

  • Must have the ability to delegate, coach and train team members to ensure proper knowledge of the location.

  • Ability to speak to guests fluently regarding the food, beverage, and overall concept
